A Walk: A Tragic Story with Saado Dakhil

When I was 9 years old, ISIS captured me not only me, but my whole family.
The most painful moment was when my mother said to me, “Take care, my son.”I still remember her words, and I can never forget them. Right after she said that, my whole body started shaking. I heard the sound of a gun, and I realized
my father was killed.
After that, they took us to Syria. I was with my brothers and sisters, but we were all separated. Two of my sisters ran away to Germany, and one stayed in Syria.
In 2020, we contacted one of my sisters and she came back to Iraq. But sadly, she had children, and she told us, “I can’t stay here,” and she left again. We haven’t seen her since then.
Now, my life has changed and become better. I live with my big brother, I got married, and I have a daughter named Sevda - she is just four days old.
I felt really happy when I joined Springs of Hope, because I saw all my old friends again, and we had a fun time together.
Thank you to everyone who supported us we will never forget you.
