Letter from our Founder, Lisa
Nine years ago the cries of persecuted minority groups here in Northern Iraq reached our ears and reverberated deep into our souls. Cries of deep pain along with a desperate cry to survive and live in the places of bloodshed.
Our hearts were stirred.
We lost sleep as our conscience was pricked. We came and made our life within the displaced Yezidi community who had fled Sinjar, abandoning all in the panic to stay alive as their loved ones were torn from them and taken deep into the machinery of the black caliphate.
We met the Syrians, the survivors of human devastation, struggling to begin from nothing in slum dwellings but whose gentleness and hospitality challenged our western concepts. We have learned the joy of giving, from those who live in tents and have nothing, yet give that which they don't have.
We have learned that giving is a culture, a tangible expression of love and care. It is an honor to give. It is never a burden. So we ask you to join us on our journey, to be a part of our Culture of Giving.

In practice we take utmost care to honor the donor’s request for any of recommended designations. In rare cases when that is not possible, gifts will be used Where Most Needed at that time.
Tax deductible receipts are issued by our accountants who also issue End of year Donation Statements on sums over $250 per annum in January of each year.
