FIELD UDPATE

I began to write about the August 3 memorial, but I got stuck. I had no words. I had run out of words. There was nothing to be said that had not already been said. I could not rehash what had already been expressed.

My thoughts turned to WHY, as in, why are we still here? Why are we still loving on the one in front of us? Why haven't we given up? We have faced so many hard times and crises. We have had every reason to quit. Why haven't we? Why does every Shariya sunrise find me on the roof? Why do the stables beckon at sundown? 

Why everything? 

Why?

We pool our photos every day, and as I browse through them in the evening, I am always overwhelmed by what we are able to accomplish in a single working day and by the impact we have on an entire camp. I am amazed and humbled by the way we touch life after life. I think of the generations to come who will be blessed because we simply turned up. We had no idea what we were getting into, but we showed up.

Today, we show you photos as our answer.

We lack many answers. We do not know what tomorrow holds. But Hineni. Here I am. Here we are.

Living in the why.

Because of the thousand generations to come.

Because of His favor and His blessing to those generations.

Because we are determined to see the death of August 3, 2014, turn into great hope for the future.
